I recognized the name, but didn’t really know the story, so gave this one a go.
Elizabeth Smart – My Story published 10/2012 – read 4/24
This book was written in the voice and mindset a 14 year old girl, I believe she wrote it this way on purpose to make it readable for other younger survivors. I’m glad she didn’t go into details, there would be no reason for that. What made me most angry in this story was when the detective in the library questioned her captor and believed his story – because anything can be justified by religion? I hope that detective lost his job.
